Referee and observer
Welcome as a referee or observer during the Norway Cup!
Registration deadline 31.05.2026

Referee registration
To carry out the world's largest football tournament for children and young people, we need over 400 referees and 70 observers. The program is basically to referee three to five matches per day, either as a referee or assistant referee. An observer usually have the same number of assignments. In order to have the right referee for each match, we group the referees according to what is done in the district and association. We rank them according to which division or level each individual referees.
All games are equally important, and there will therefore be many interesting assignments even for referees who are participating for the first time. For 11-aside football we use authorized circuit referees. Recruitment referees and club referees will mainly be set up in 7-aside football. Although we make this selection, the referees compete to referee games in the play-offs and finals in the classes they have refereed within.
This is how the referees and observers live during the Norway Cup
The judges and supervisors will be living near Ekebergsletta. The exact location will be specified on this page.
A bed or mattress will be provided for everyone. Breakfast will be served at the judges' school, while lunch and dinner will be served in Ekeberghallen. All meat served in Ekeberghallen will be halal-slaughtered, and there will be gluten- and lactose-free options. If you have other food allergies, you must inform us of this when registering.
All you as a referee need to bring with you is referee equipment, your usual clothing, a sleeping bag (or similar) and toiletries. There are lockers at the school where valuables can be locked, so that they are not accessible in the classrooms. You must bring your own padlock. In addition, there will be staffed referee tents at Ekebergsletta that can take care of your equipment when you referee (the referee tents do not take responsibility for valuables).
At Norway Cup, we prioritize the safety of participants, judges and volunteers. We have good procedures and routines for both infection control measures and infection tracking.

This is what you get in return for judging or observe at Norway Cup
Norway Cup gives you the opportunity to develop yourself as a referee and observer. You will be given many interesting assignments. The matches in Norway Cup offer many challenges that you do not experience very often; playoffs and penalty shootouts mean that there are more sporting challenges than in regular league matches. You will have fun both on and off the football field. Overall, it contributes to a very exciting week. You will not get rich from refereeing or supervising in Norway Cup, but you will be paid a nice fee for each assignment.
Join the colorful community!
We invite referees and observers to a pleasant stay in Oslo. If you are under 18 years of age, you must send us confirmation from your parents/guardians that you can participate. The form will be sent upon confirmation of participation. Referees and observers with special illnesses, allergies or who have other needs are asked to report this in advance.
