More girls – a panel discussion about the future of football

On Tuesday, July 30, we invite you to a panel discussion where we talk about girls in football and how girls can assert themselves in roles that have traditionally been occupied by men.

In Norway Cup, girls' football has always been an important focus, girls have participated in the tournament since its inception in 1972. Norway Cup has always worked for gender equality in Norwegian club activities and football, and it is this focus that has contributed to making the tournament a leading arena for both boys and girls.

This is the backdrop when Norway Cup and NFF, in collaboration with their More Girls initiative with Thon Hotels, are hosting a panel discussion with some of Norway's most inspiring football minds - who are also women. As more women enter roles that have traditionally been occupied by men, we want to highlight the opportunities that exist for girls who want to!

With us on the panel we have:

  • Siri Nordby, incoming director of national team and top football at NFF
  • Vilde Mollestad Rislaa, head coach of Skeid's men's team in the Postnord league
  • Emilie Rodahl Torkelsen, referee in the OBOS men's league

In addition, there will be an introductory talk with Norway Cup manager Marthe Bøhler about girls' participation in the tournament. Mina Finstad Berg, sports commentator for TV2, will act as moderator.

Time and place:

1:30 PM – 2:45 PM

The event is open to everyone, but is especially suitable for coaches, team managers and support staff, as well as girls 16 - 19 who want to hear more about the opportunities in football.
