UEFA Bring The Biggest Prizes to Ekeberg.

Tuesday 9th August sees the UEFA Super Cup being played in Trondheim, Norway – at the home stadium of Premier Division Club Rosenborg BK.

The match will be an all Spanish matchup with Real Madrid, who won the UEFA Champions League playing Sevilla, who won the UEFA Europa League.

In celebration of this event – UEFA brought the three major European Trophies to Ekebergsletta on Monday afternoon – for all spectators, players, coaches and referees to have their photogrpahs taken with them on the main stage as the Champions League Anthem was played over the loudspeakers.

The line to walk up to do this was always very long, with lots of smiling faces on show.  One highlight was an entire team from the Q 16/17 Class walking up onto stage in their full playing kit to be photographed with the three trophies – a scene that was very much like you see on television after the Champions League Final.

Norwegian TV Channel TV2 also got in on the act, with them filming a short piece on the event to be shown later that evening in the daily highlights programme.

It is very rare for Ekeberg to see the major prizes in European football on display, the memories created by them will be ones to keep for life.
