Meet our co-organisers – Abildsø

We in Bækkelagets Sportsklub/Norway Cup work with 6 other sport clubs around Oslo in order to be able to give our 2000 teams a fantastic Norway Cup week. To accommodate that many teams we have to play some of group stage matches on playing fields across Oslo. One of our long time partners is Abildsø.

Abildsø sports team was founded in September 1931 as part of the Sports union of Labourers. Throughout the history of the club it has catered to cycling, track and field, bandy, skiing, handball and football.  In the 70’s and 80’s, skiing was the most successful sport. However, the past decade football has taken over. The club has around 400 members and and 140 of these work as volunteers during Norway Cup.

In Abildsø you can find four full size 11 a side fields and three 7 a side fields. Abildsø has been a part of Norway cup for about 40 years and the it is all the positive aspects of volunteering, the joy of football and children having the opportunity of working with the adults that keeps it going strong.

The fields at Abildsø is close to nature and the beautiful Østensjø lake is in walking distance.

Also in walking distance is the mall of Manglerud and the mall of Lambertseter.
