LaLiga and several of its Spanish top clubs are coming to Norway Cup

LaLiga are bringing their boys 16 team from CD Leganés, and girls 17 team from Valencia CF, to Oslo and the world’s biggest football tournament, Norway Cup.

Norway Cup and the Spanish league LaLiga has signed a new partnership. This is a further development of LaLiga’s investment in education and grassroots football, while also giving them a great opportunity to promote the Spanish league in Norway. As part of the new partnership, LaLiga will have a fan zone at Ekebergsletta during this year’s tournament, where participants and visitors can have fun with lots of different activities and games.

In addition, LaLiga, through its department for sports projects, will organize various training activities during the tournament, both for children through mini clinics with Spanish coaches and for coaches through courses about LaLiga’s training methodology.

Two Spanish top teams are also joining Norway Cup’s elite class for both boys and girls. CD Leganés’ boys 16 team and Valencia CF’s girls 17 team will have the opportunity to test themselves against other top teams from Norway and other European countries.

Tony Isaksen, Secretary General of Norway Cup, says: “We are an international tournament with many international teams, but would like to have even more international teams join us. Our new partnership with LaLiga is a unique opportunity for us to reach an even greater part of the world.

Óscar Mayo, International Director of LaLiga, commented: “Norway Cup is one of the best grassroots football tournaments in the world, and for us it is a very good opportunity to continue to expand LaLiga’s presence internationally. At the same time, this cooperation gives us the opportunity to show our commitment to competence sharing and to grassroots football worldwide.
