IFK Göteborg bring their youth teams to Norway Cup

IFK Göteborg are bringing several of their teams for the first time to Norway Cup to play for victory in Oslo.

IFK Göteborg has signed a long-term agreement with Norway Cup and are looking to bring several teams in different age groups to this year’s tournament. Here they’ll have the opportunity to test themselves against several good Norwegian and international teams.

– We are very pleased to have IFK Göteborg with us and we look forward to working closely with them in the future. That IFK Gothenburg now choose to prioritize Norway Cup is very exciting and we hope that it can also bring even more new Swedish teams to Norway Cup. At Norway Cup they have the opportunity to bring many teams with them and play against the best teams, says Tony Isaksen, Secretary General of Bækkelagets Sportsklub / Norway Cup.

– IFK Göteborg are always looking for tournaments that are well organized, provide more than just football for the participants and that are within a comfortable travel distance from Gothenburg. We also want to go back to the same cup every year and we want to be able to travel with more than one team to the Cup for the club’s team spirit. Norway Cup is therefore perfect for us, says Roger Gustafsson, Academy manager in IFK Göteborg.

Roger, a former football player who has had great success as a coach, does not deny that they are hoping for a great tournament experience for their youth teams in Norway Cup:

– We hope that this will be a great experience for our young people and a good future partnership with Baekkelagets Sportsklub and Norway Cup. We’d like this to become an annual thing and believe Norway Cup will be a great experience with a lot of football, socializing in and between our own teams, players and officials, while we get to meet both young people and adults from other countries, says Gustafsson.
